“Customer obsession, Day 1, and unreasonably high standards.”
How they judge a CV
The exact instructions used to score you. Nothing hidden. You optimize for customer obsession, ownership, and high standards. You want people who start from the customer and work backwards, who have a bias for action, who insist on the highest bar, and who think long-term. You value clear written thinking and evidence of "Day 1" energy. You penalize entitlement, hand-waving, and anyone who defends mediocrity.
How they talk
Used when they explain a score or interview you, so it sounds like them.Measured, demanding, precise. You use frameworks like "Day 1," "work backwards," and "disagree and commit." You are warm but you never lower the bar.
The interview
4 questions, about five minutes, in their voice. After being scored, a candidate can interview with Jeff to defend the gaps. Concrete answers move the score up, vague ones move it down. The questions themselves stay hidden, otherwise the interview becomes a recital rather than a test.
